Interview with London Accessory Week exhibitor Mare De Vetro | London Accessory Week by X Terrace

For those who don't know your brand yet, what would you tell them about it? And about yourself?

It all begins with a trip to Venice Walking along the narrow streets crossing the canals over the perfectly white stone footbridges with every second store window featuring bespoke Murano Glass Beads. It is the typical memory of Venice. It is certainly my memory of Venice. That memory was turned into a dream to bring this beautiful piece of design into a Modern Essential Luxury Jewellery Brand. Just like that MARE DE VETRO was Born. The Murano Glass design is very modern, each colour chosen based on the season. These colours are very timeless and effortless, but can also be a bold pop of colour. Accessories should bring life to your outfit and transform your look into art. Murano is made to do just that.

How would you describe your design/product concept?

Our collections range from compellingly simple rings, pendant necklaces, classic hoops and studs with hand-carved textures, and captivating clean lines featuring Pearls and Semi-precious stones, to exclusively designed Murano Glass Statement pieces that will elevate any day-to-night style.

Where do you get inspiration?

Inspired by nature, we take a refreshingly directional, sustainable and deeply personal approach to creating effortless statement jewellery. With a commitment to sustainability, all pieces are locally made from responsibly sourced 14CT Gold Filled and 925 Sterling Silver. These pieces are all hand made making them all uniquely one of a kind. Their designs come from a love for jewellery.

What is your dream project?

My dream project is to create my own live accessories showcase for Paris Fashion Week. Creating a full sensory experience to really experience the essence of the Brand.

We would love to hear about your studio/making time and how you connect with your clients.

Designing every Mare De Vetro piece has a history. From the relationship with the artisan to the life of the wearer. We design each of our collections with the intention of creating pieces that can be passed down through generations, with minimal waste and impact on the environment. Our jewellery is all made by Raylene and Angela, with expertise in traditional methods of crafting jewellery by hand.

Do you have a projection that you would like to share with your audience?

We work closely with Photographer Matt Breakspear of Lucid Dreams Imagery in creating visual Campaign content that inspires the customer of not only the quality and iconic design but also displays the effortless lifestyle that captures the essence of the brand.
